Phoenix Brands Acquires Detergent Division of Colgate-Palmolive

Phoenix Brands LLC acquired Colgate-Palmolive Co.’s North American heavy-duty laundry detergent brands. The sale includes the brands Fab, Dynamo, Arctic Power, ABC, Cold Power and Fresh Start as well as the license of the Ajax brand for laundry detergents in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. The sale was part of Colgate-Palmolive’s plan to deemphasize detergents and focus on its high-margin oral, personal and pet care businesses.

Deal closed in 2006. Mark Landry lead this deal while at a previous company.
