The AEC industry started 2020 with strong M&A activity in the US. With the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic throughout the country, deal activity has slowed similarly to most other markets. Some buyers are extending deal deadlines to fully evaluate the current situation and the impact it has on their business. Nonetheless, strategics and private equity groups will continue to be interested in the sector, as the industry further consolidates.
