7 Mile Advisors Closes Fourth Microsoft Transaction In The Past 12 Months

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Microsoft Business Unit of SADA Systems (SADA), a privately owned global leader in business and technology consulting and IT services, has been acquired by Core BTS (Core), a national IT solutions, security and managed services provider. 7 Mile Advisors (7 Mile), a leading middle market investment bank specializing in IT Services, acted as the exclusive sell-side advisor to SADA Systems.

This sale marks 7 Mile’s fourth successful transaction in the Microsoft ecosystem, and eighth in the Cloud Infrastructure space, in the past 12 months. In 2018 the firm acted as the exclusive sell-side advisor to Sonoma Partners in their sale to Ernst & Young, and to Intellinet in their sale to FPT. 7 Mile has successfully closed over 150 transactions, and continue to be active in the IT & Business Services space. The team regularly publishes research on the Microsoft Ecosystem which is available on their website for download.

“The 7MA team knows our industry dynamics and has a global reach. They are a senior team that worked well with us. Most importantly, they were accountable. They said what they would do, and they did it, and then some,” stated Tony Safoian, CEO & President, SADA Systems. “This all translated into demonstrable value add for SADA. I highly recommend 7MA”.

This acquisition is part of Core’s ongoing strategy to expand its services portfolio, including its managed service capabilities, across the United States. In August 2018, Core was acquired by Tailwind Capital, a middle market private equity firm focused on growth-oriented investments in targeted sectors within healthcare, business services and industrial services.

SADA’s Microsoft practice is a premier Microsoft Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP), holding multiple Gold competencies, with a proven track record in enterprise consulting, cloud platform migration, custom application development, managed services, user adoption and change management.

“This acquisition strengthens our strategic partnership with Microsoft and expands our relationships with many tremendous clients,” said Core CEO Walter Cook. “Our talented team will continue to offer our clients the industry-leading services and solutions that help them advance their businesses through technology. I am excited to welcome the employees to the Core family.”

Core has an established IT services and cloud solutions portfolio focused on Network, Data Center, Collaboration and Security. The addition of SADA’s Microsoft business unit greatly expands these capabilities, strengthening Core’s professional and managed services, as well as end user adoption for the broader Microsoft solution set. With the addition of SADA’s Microsoft team, Core now adds significant capabilities to address its customers’ increasing demand for Azure and Office 365 cloud solutions.

“Microsoft continues to dominate the productivity space and is experiencing accelerated growth in the cloud through its Azure offering. This success has made companies like SADA’s Microsoft business highly valuable in the fragmented Microsoft partner ecosystem. We expect consolidation to continue, specifically within Azure,” said John Cooper, Director at 7 Mile Advisors.
