Similar to primary care, a large portion of specialty care has shifted to virtual delivery during the global pandemic, however, any lasting change is likely to vary by specialty.[1] Specialties such as behavioral health have been able to move virtual, while procedural specialties such as ophthalmology and orthopedics cannot exist in a digital capacity. Increased adoption of value-based care and reimbursement parity for virtual care will help accelerate the pivot towards in-home care delivery.
