Digital Medicine
Digital Medicine includes the coordination and delivery of care through digital channels and the integration of the resulting data to drive improved health outcomes. Increased adoption of HL7 FHIR standards, the ISO 13485 quality management standards for Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), and the proliferation of internet-connected medical devices has expanded the reach and efficacy of digital medicine. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated many trends that were already underway in Healthcare including the rise of digital medicine as providers search for tools to engage, monitor, and manage their patients remotely. Following a strong 2019 for digital medicine transactions, 7 Mile Advisors forecasts an increase in M&A and growth capital investment activity with valuations comparable to 2019 with increased bid spreads due to a shift towards thesis-driven strategies by investors.
