According to IBISWorld, the digital advertising agency space grew at a 17% CAGR over the last 5 years in the US, reaching total revenue of $17b in 2019, as digital agencies “benefited from the rapid shift from traditional print advertising to digital advertisements.” Given the rapid expansion of the market, it should come as no surprise that M&A has been robust for a number of years now as more traditional consulting companies seek to service an increasingly digital customer base. Going forward, we anticipate this appetite will continue to fuel consolidation in the space for the foreseeable future.
