M&A WATCH: WESTERN EUROPE – JULY 2021 COVERAGE
Our monthly M&A Watch spotlights deals in the Information Technology industry throughout Western Europe.
July saw 42 deals getting closed in Western Europe, compared to 68 during the same time in 2020. Strategic acquirers, often with private equity backing, were more acquisitive this month with 27 of the deals being done by strategic acquirers and 15 by private equity groups. Overall activity in the region is strong and is pointing towards a potential record year for deal volume, if activity remains at this level.
Accenture announced three notable Western Europe deals in July:
Accenture hasagreed to acquire Ethica Consulting Group, a group of technology companies based in Italy that provides advanced software and professional services. With headquarters in Treviso and several offices across Italy, Ethica Consulting Group is organized into three affiliate companies, each specialized in specific areas of SAP technology, and recognized as an SAP Platinum Partner. The acquisition will strengthen Accenture’s capabilities in delivering digital transformation for clients and enabling them to develop innovative products and services using SAP® cloud-based solutions. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. #Italy #SAP
Accenture has announced its acquisition of Linkbynet, a leading French cloud services provider specializing in cloud optimization and managed services, cloud transformation, and cloud security. Founded in 2000, Linkbynet is a cloud-native solutions provider based in Saint-Denis, France, with additional offices in Belgium, Canada, China, France, Luxembourg, Mauritius, Singapore, and Vietnam. The acquisition will enhance Accenture Cloud First capabilities supporting clients’ cloud migrations and business transformations. #France #Cloud
Accenture has announced its acquisition of Nell’Armonia, a leading consulting and technology company specializing in enterprise performance management (EPM) solutions, headquartered in Paris, France. With more than 135 highly skilled professionals with experience in Oracle EPM cloud solutions, as well as Anaplan, CCH Tagetik, and OneStream solutions, Nell’Armonia is serving clients across France and Israel with services that cover the entire EPM spectrum, from advisory to implementation and maintenance. The acquisition complements Accenture’s existing capabilities and would enhance its ability to address clients’ needs for analytics-based insights to support finance and end-to-end enterprise planning. #France #ERP
Atos announced its acquisition of IDEAL GRP. IDEAL GRP is a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system integrator and platinum-level solution partner of Siemens Digital Industries Software, headquartered in Finland. The firm offers consulting, integration, software, and maintenance services for businesses in the Manufacturing sector. Econocom Group, a European digital transformation services provider, acquired Trams Ltd. Founded in 1990, Trams is a UK award-winning IT solutions provider benefiting from long-standing partnerships with Apple, HP, Lenovo, and Dell. The company offers a wide range of services to its B2B customers from defining needs, configuring environments, installing, and supporting hardware.
