A Principal Of 7 Mile Advisors Acted As The Buy-Side Advisor To Collabera In Their Acquisition Of Blue Hammock
Global Consultants, Inc. (“GCI”, now known as Collabera), one of the fastest growing providers of end-to-end information technology services and solutions worldwide, acquired Blue Hammock, Inc. Blue Hammock was a Pennsylvania-based company focused on the strategy and delivery of comprehensive services in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. This deal continued GCI’s growth strategy of bolstering its competencies.
“When GCI received $30 million in equity funding from Oak Investment Partners last year (2006), part of the goal was to pursue diverse acquisitions that would broaden our range of expertise in different practices, including Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence” said Dominick Cavuoto, Chief Executive Officer of GCI, at the time of the acquisition. “Blue Hammock’s proven abilities in those areas, as evidenced by a long successful track record with both mid-market and Fortune 1000 clients, dovetails nicely with our overall vision and goals.”
GCI had over $250 million in total sales in 2006, resulting in year-over-year increase of over 35%. 2007 was projected to be the most successful year ever. The company was then well positioned as one of the leading mid-size IT service companies in the industry.
Under the terms of the deal, the employees of Blue Hammock became part of GCI, which substantially expanded the company’s domain expertise in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. Eric Carlson, then Chief Executive Officer of Blue Hammock, assumed duties as a Senior Vice President of GCI, which included leading the Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence division.
“This is a win for our clients as well as our employees,” said Eric Carlson, Chief Executive Officer of Blue Hammock. “Our clients will benefit from the expanded set of delivery capabilities we can now offer. In addition, our employees will be presented with significant growth opportunities by becoming involved with more diverse projects. We are all looking forward to adding to the tremendous success of GCI.”
