After having an unheralded amount of deal activity in 2020, the Management Consulting industry not only saw a return from previous levels of deal activity in 2021, but also a return of EBITDA multiples to historical averages of approximately 14x. Many of these acquisitions saw key market players invest in smaller consulting firms to help improve their service offerings and/or enter new markets. In late December 2021, BDO acquired Culbert Healthcare Solutions in order to do this very thing: expand the BDO management advisory capabilities, and gain specialists in the healthcare industry.
