According to Gartner, the worldwide public cloud services market is projected to grow 18% percent in 2019 to $214b, up from $182b in 2018. More importantly, cloud technology and services are expected to grow 3x as fast as the broader IT services industry through 2022. Given this market trajectory, smaller cloud services firms will need to consolidate to in order to keep up with the demands of an ever changing market, by acquiring new capabilities, talent, market share, or reputation.
