While 2020 started out strong for M&A activity in the AEC industry, COVID-19 surely had an impact. Many construction sites were shut down for safety reasons and projects were halted. Since then, the overall outlook on the industry has changed for the better as more and more construction sites are able to reopen safely, adding about 460,000 jobs to the industry in the US over the last month. Overall, we are expecting 2020 to show solid demand for acquisitions, as the industry further digitizes, and digital tools and analytics capabilities are becoming more relevant.
